HTML Tutorial Day 3

HTML Tags

A web browser reads an HTML document from top to bottom, left to right. Each time the browser finds a tag, the tag is rendered accordingly. Paragraph tags render paragraph text, image tags render images, etc. By adding tags to an HTML document, you are not only coding HTML, but also signaling to the browser.

HTML Tag Code:

<tag>Content</tag>

<p>This text will be rendered like a paragraph.</p>

Tags should always be written in lowercase letters if you plan on publishing the page online, as this is the web standard for XHTML and Dynamic HTML.

HTML More Tag Code:

<body>Body Tag
<p>Paragraph Tag</p>
<h2>Heading Tag</h2>
<b>Bold Tag</b>
<i>Italic Tag</i>
</body>

HTML Elements without closing tags

There are a few elements that do not require formal closing tags. In a way, they still have the 3 parts (opening/closing and content), but they are consolidated into one tag. The reason for this is that these tags do not really require any content to be placed within them, but sometimes may require attributes such as source URLs for images.
One prime, easy example of an HTML tag that does not require a closing tag is the line break tag.

HTML Line Break Code:

<br />

To tell the browser we want to place a line break (carriage return) onto the site, it is not necessary to type <br>linebreak</br>. This would require a tremendous amount of effort,and if every line break tag needed all three components as other tags do, life would become redundant real quick. The better solution is to combine the opening and closing tags into a single format and shorten the number of characters needed to render a line break. Other tags, such as image tags and input tags, have also been modified in such a manner.

HTML Code:

<img src="../bloggerpic.jpg" /> -- Image Tag
<br /> -- Line Break Tag
<input type="text" size="12" /> -- Input Field

Display:

---- line Break----

As you can see from the above, the web browser is capable of interpreting the image tag as long as we inform the browser where the image file is located, using the src attribute. Attributes will be discussed in more detail throughout the remainder of the tutorial. For now, it's a good time to start thinking about what type of website you want to make. It is always easier to make content for a topic or to achieve a goal.

Get the Yahoo! username you have always desired

Yahoo is allowing people to place claims on inactive email addresses that are being given a second life.

The opportunity to request the identifications began Monday afternoon and will extend through Aug. 7. Up to five different names can be submitted at http://wishlist.yahoo.com

Yahoo Inc. says a substantial number of old email IDs are being made available, but isn't providing specifics.

The email IDs are being released a month after the Sunnyvale, California, company notified users that they would have 30 days to log into an inactive account if they wanted to keep it.

People awarded the rights to the recycled email addresses will have a 48-hour period to activate the accounts beginning Aug. 15.

WhatsApp Cracked For All Platforms (Direct Link)

Hey guys I have seen many people searching for a cracked version of WhatsApp for iOS , Android, Symbian Devices. So in this post I will be posting all the three platforms WhatsApp Messenger for Free and fully cracked :)

5 Ways To Prevent Your Facebook Account From Getting Hacked

You’ve probably already heard that Facebook accounts are hacked to gain personal information, but you might not be aware of how easy that just might be for hackers. With hackers increasingly targeting Facebook as a primary source of collecting user information, and corporations using your information to make decisions about your rates, you really should have a plan for protecting yourself.

Here are some tips to prevent getting hacked:
  1. Use strong passwords. The names of yourself, your spouse, parents, siblings or dog, or your birthday, do not qualify. Use a mix of letters, digits and punctuation (but not blank spaces). Use both capital and lowercase letters. The longer your password, the better. The shorter your password, the easier it is to hack, especially if it’s a common word or name. A good starting point is six characters, though 8, 10 or 12 are even better. If you have trouble remembering, do something about that, else consider using an unusual phrase or combo of words that only you or a few people might know, then substitute some of the letters with digits and/or punctuation. Humorous combinations might make it easier to remember, but otherwise write your password down in a SAFE place. Or just keep using the “Forgot password?” option to reset your password.
  2. Change your password regularly. By regularly I mean monthly or even weekly, not yearly. Facebook’s “Forgot password?” option is one way, or you can go to your account’s settings.
  3. Don’t friend everyone. That “hot chick” whom you don’t know and looks like some Hollywood starlet might be a guy. Avoid the person who doesn’t even have a profile pic, let alone any friends in common with you. If you haven’t met them, be cautious. Also, don’t friend friends whom you know to use weak passwords. If their account is compromised, hackers can still learn certain things about you from your profile, or could send you a message via the friend’s account to lure you to a malware site.
  4. Don’t click on links willy-nilly. If you click on a status update that a “friend” posted on your wall and it looks fishy, don’t assume they actually did it. Their account could be compromised. If your clicking takes you to a Facebook application that you’re unsure of, there’s no obligation to click through. For example, AllFacebook Editor Nick O’Neill recently posted about a fake ‘Like photo’ application.
  5. Don’t believe all emails. Don’t forget that honest web services will never ask you to do certain things in an email. For example, Facebook will NEVER send you an email asking you to change your password or enter personal details. If they need you to do that, they will tell you where in your account settings you can go to do that. On a similar note, protect your email account that you registered for Facebook with, else someone can succeed in resetting your Facebook password.
Have any tips on how to protect a Facebook account? Feel free to share in the comments.

HTML Tutorial Day 2

HTML Elements

When you land on a website, all the items you see in front of you -- the paragraph texts, the page banners, and the navigation links are all elements of the web page. The term element is a just a name given to any piece of a web page. Many HTML elements are actually invisible to visitors and work quietly behind the scenes to provide web crawlers and search engines useful information about the site.

An element consists of three essential pieces: an opening tag, the content, and a closing tag.
  1. <p> - opening paragraph tag
  2. Element Content
  3. </p> - closing tag

A Complete HTML Element
<p>Once upon a time...</p>
A single page can contain hundreds or thousands of elements, but when all is said and done, every HTML page should have a bare minimum of four critical elements: the HTMLheadtitle, and body elements.

<html></html>

<html> is the element that begins and ends each and every web page. Its sole purpose is to hold each web element nicely in position and serves the role of book cover; all other HTML elements are encapsulated within the <html> element. The tag also lets web browsers know, "Hey, I'm an HTML web page!", so that the browser knows how to render it. Remember to close your HTML documents with the corresponding </html> tag to signify the end of the HTML document.
If you haven't already, it is time to open up Notepad, Notepad++, or Crimson Editor and have a new, blank document ready to go. Copy the following HTML code into your text editor.

HTML Element Code:

<html>
</html>
Now save your file by selecting - Menu and then Save. Click on the Save as Type drop down box and select the option All Files. When you're asked to name your file, name it - index.html. Double-check that you did everything correctly and then press - Save. Now open your file in a new web browser so that you have the ability to refresh the page and see any new changes.

<head></head>

The <head> is usually the first element contained inside the <html> element. While it is also an element container that encapsulates other HTML elements, these elements are not directly displayed by a web browser. Instead they function behind the scenes, providing more descriptive information about the HTML document, like its page title and other meta data. Other elements used for scripting (JavaScript) and formatting (CSS) are also contained within the <head> element, and we will eventually introduce how to utilize those languages. For now, the head element will continue to lay empty except for the title element, which will be introduced next.
Here's a sample of the initial setup.

HTML Head Element Code:

<html>
<head>
</head>
</html>
If you've made the code changes and refreshed the browser page, you will notice that we still have nothing happening on the page. So far, all we've done is add a couple of necessary elements that describe the web page document to the web browser. Content -- the stuff you can see -- will come next!

<title></title>

The <title> element adds a title to a web page. Web page titles are displayed at the top of any browser window or at the top of browser tabs. They are probably the first thing seen by web surfers as pages are loaded, and web pages you bookmark are saved using the web pages' titles.
A proper title makes a good first impression, and any page caught without a title is considered unprofessional, at best.

HTML Title Element Code:

<html>
<head>
<title>First Page</title>
</head>
</html>
Save the file and refresh the browser. You should see "My Web Page!" in the upper-left bar of your browser window.
Name your webpage as you please. Just keep in mind that the best titles are brief and descriptive.

<body></body>

The element that encapsulates all the visual elements (paragraphs, pictures, tables, etc.) of a web page is the <body> element. We will be looking at each of these elements in greater detail as the tutorial progresses, but for now, it's only important to understand that the body element is one of the four critical web page elements, and it contains all of the page's viewable content.

HTML Body Element Code:

<html>
<head>
<title>First Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>Once upon a time...</p>
</body>
</html>
Go ahead and view your first complete web page.

HTML Elements Reviewed

To recap quickly: we've laid out a set of four essential elements that are used to create a strong foundation and structure for your web page. The <html> element encapsulates all page content and elements, including two special elements: the <head> and <body> elements. The <head> element is a smaller container for elements that work behind the scenes of web pages, while the <body> element houses content elements such as web forms, text, images, and web video.
From here on out, the examples we provide will assume that you have a firm understanding of these key elements and know to place the majority of your HTML code inside of the <body> element.

HTML Tutorial Day 1

HTML

Html stands for (Hypertext Markup Language)

Welcome to Learning Goods HTML Tutorial! Here you will learn the basics of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), so that you may design your own web pages like the one you are viewing right now!

HTML is not a programming language, but rather a markup language. If you already know XML, HTML will be a snap for you to learn. We urge you not to attempt to blow through this tutorial in one sitting. Instead, we recommend that you spend 15 minutes to an hour a day practicing HTML and then take a break to let the information settle in. We aren't going anywhere!

Html Preparation

If you are new to HTML and haven't read through our Beginner's Tutorial, please take a few minutes to complete that tutorial before moving on.
Creating an HTML document is easy. To begin coding HTML, you need only two things: a simple-text editor, such as Notepad, and the dedication to follow this tutorial! Notepad is the most basic of simple-text editors, and you will probably code a fair amount of HTML with it in your early stages. Notepad++ is another popular favorite among web developers. These innovative text editors are specialized for writing simple code and they utilize color coding to help you write concise code.

HTML Background

HTML hasn't been around for many years. The first web pages began in November 1990, and back then, there were little to no HTML standards to follow. As a result, a group called the World Wide Web Consortium formed to set standards for coding HTML. We will base our teachings around these widely-accepted coding standards.

Web Pages

Here are some important facts about why web pages are so useful!
  • They are a low-cost and easy way to spread information to a large audience.
  • The provide yet another medium you can use to market your business!
  • They serve as a platform to let the world know about you!

Ward those you have to know

Throughout this tutorial, we will be using several terms that are unique to HTML. It is important for you to understand what these words mean, in the context of HTML.
  • Tag - Used to tag or "mark-up" pieces of text. Once tagged, the text becomes HTML code to be interpreted by a web browser. Tags look like this: <tag>
  • Element - A complete tag, having an opening <tag> and a closing </tag>.
  • Attribute - Used to modify the value of the HTML element. Elements will often have multiple attributes.
For now, just understand that a tag a piece of code that acts as a label that a web browser interprets, an element is a complete tag with an opening and closing tag, and an attribute is a property value that customizes or modifies an HTML element.

HTML Tutorial For Beginners

Website creating guide for beginners

Welcome to Learning Goods  introduction to HTML and web design. This short tutorial is aimed to give new learners a little experience in writing HTML code, saving their files correctly, and viewing the completed works in a web browser. Regrettably this tutorial cannot teach you the basics of using a computer, so please be sure that you meet the following requirements:

  • Know what notepad is and how to use it
  • Are able to open up a file using Internet Explorer (or the browser of your choice)
  • Know how to copy and paste text from a webpage (important!).
Tutorial Overview

In this tutorial you will be transcribing code into notepad and then viewing it with a web browser. The code is called HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and notepad is a commonly used text editor on Window PCs. HTML may seem confusing at first, but we will help you understand how it works in this step-by-step tutorial of how to make your first web page.

How to make your first webpage

<html>

<head>
</head>

<body>

<h2>My first webpage!</h2>

</body>
</html>

The above code is all that is required to create a basic web page! Now save your file in notepad by selecting Menu and then Save. Click on the Save as Type drop down box and select the option All Files.
When asked to name your file, type "index.html", without the quotes. Double check that you did everything correctly and then press save. Remember where it was saved to because you will need to open this file.

How to view your webpage in Web browser

To view your web page, you must open the "index.html" file inside of a web browser. Open up another browser window and then follow these instruction.
  1. In the new browser window, select File then Open
  2. Then click Browse to enter Windows Explorer
  3. Do you remember where you file is? Good, then navigate to its location
  4. When you find your file, index.html, double-click the file to open it inside your web browser
Success! You have just viewed your very first webpage.

If this did not work for you, please go through the steps again and follow the directions closely. If you still can't get this to work, please write us and we will get you up and running.

Practice Wifi Security Testing for any encryption method WITHOUT a WiFi Router

Hi To All The Mindbenders,
Since the time I installed Linux, my urge to practice some of the many things that could be done on Linux began increasing. So the first thing I began with was Aircrack, but unfortunately, I was out of range of any WiFi networks as well as I did not have a wireless router to practice on. So I began searching the whole of the internet to see if I could find a way. I wont say I was 100% successful but if the requirements are fulfilled, you are ready to practice it. In the following steps I assume that you have at least one Windows computer.

Requirements:
As I said, I wasn't 100% successful in making a virtual Lab for WiFi Security Testing practice, so you need 2 WiFi enabled computers. Doesn't matter if you have a desktop with a wifi dongle attached. You just need wifi on both. (yea I know that's bad).
A wired network (optional)

So Let's begin
I wont be going offtopic so all you have to do is just follow it step by step.

Setting up Virtual Router the easy way out.

1. On Windows7 (except for starter edition), Just download Virtual Wifi router from here.

2. After a successful installation, start the program. Put in whatever SSID you want for your hosted network, a good password and select the Connection name from the list.

3. Click the "Start Virtual Router" button, and your PC is now acting as a Virtual Router.

The command line method

1.Open the Command Prompt with admin privileges: click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.

2.Type in the following command to set ur hosted network:

Code:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=YourVirtualNetworkName key=YourNetworkPassword

3.Start the Wireless Hosted Network:

Code:
netsh wlan start hostednetwork

4.To stop the Wireless Hosted Network:

Code:
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

5.To see the Wireless Hosted Network details, including the MAC addresses of connected users:

Code:
netsh wlan show hostednetwork

Using Connectify (Can change the encryption method)
While on my path to find a way to change the excryption, I found out connectify. Yes its awesome.
1. Begin your work by downloading connectify Lite here (or pro if you want to spend, both work equally good).

2. Now all you have to do is fill in the details as follows
* The WiFi name : This is pretty easy.
* The password : Now that we are gonna use it for just our practices you can keep it simple. But its your choice :)
* Share Internet : Check it as you would want to gain access of the internet after entering into it right .
* WiFi : Choose the network, this one should be done by you and it must be easy.
* Mode : This is what we are waiting for, choose whatever encryption you want to practice on. I choose WEP.

You can keep the other things as they are and click on EasySetupWizard and you are done..

At last I feel satisfied. :)
